SOLD Painting "The Cave Story"

painting: "The Cave Story", 20'' x 16''

This painting started with just the background- I had fun one day experimenting with textures- namely sand (yes, i painted with sand- and loved it). The other week I was asked to do something special with a painting and this is what I ended up with. It has been quite a while since someone has requested that I paint/draw something for them with a specific theme. Hope they like it!

12/17/09---- She loved it!

A glimpse at the 2010 calendar.

December Update

Monthly Blog Update

“December”

Happy Holidays!

EVERY purchase made this month will be discounted in some way.  There are no “set” discount rules, it all depends on what you want to order.  For example, if you order 1 print and like another one you could get “buy one get one free”.  Or if you only order and like 1 print then it could be “half off”.  If you order a painting and like a print then you could get full price on the painting and half price on the print.  Something like that will occur with each purchase made through the month of December.

Big thanks to last month’s Guest Artist Arielle Frost, if you haven’t seen her stuff be sure to check it out on the blog http://ehazelwood.blogspot.com/2009/11/ga-arielle-frost.html

There will be no Guest Artist for December, but one is already lined up for January- stay tuned!

Only one set of photos will go up on the blog this month- a wintry theme is planned for that.  Several paintings will go up for sale SUPER CHEAP!

As mentioned last month, there is a “surprise” in store for those that have contributed to the blog this year.  A special “thank you” calendar has been created and will go out to those that have helped out this year.  The calendars have been ordered and will be in soon, so look to the blog later this month to see when they come in and to check out some pictures of them.  They should be shnazzy!  It’s not too late to get a calendar, the ways to getting one are simple but time is limited.  To secure a calendar you must make a purchase from the blog between now and January 1, 2010 (or provide some other service to the blog for free such as advertising, poster/flyer making and posting, etc).

As always, thank you for visiting the blog and for sharing it with others!

Portraits- Self

For me, the most difficult portrait to take is the self portrait. And perhaps the most intriguing one.

Portraits- Hannah in the snow Pt. 2

Portraits- Hannah in the snow Pt. 1

This photoshoot was more of an experiment than a photoshoot. I have never lived somewhere where it snowed this much until I moved to Rock Hill, SC. This was my first time shooting a person in the snow.
